Je traduis l'essentiel:It's been long discussed that these units are garbage in terms of output, specially on halogen lamps. My question is why TRS is offering these in the first place. Yes, their business is booming, but it's this is focused on catering to the uneducated masses to what I can only speculate, increase their sales figures.
And like always, TRS offers these for sale without even supplying THE most important factor in automotive lighting...an output shot. Raw lumens means absolutely nothing if they're not put in the right place. As a company built around performance lighting, you'd think this would be a common sense thing to provide. You can't expect people to buy things just on blind faith.
Every product will have negative feedback, and negative information is posted on internet forum 10x at the rate of positive--this is commonplace.
We DO use feedback toward development of products, hence why some of the turn signal bulbs are not available for purchase at this time. That's right, they were REMOVED FROM THE SITE until we can sort out these minor issues that have popped up with early adopters.![]()
We'll get output shots. I'm convinced these are the best drop-in LED bulbs we've seen, and yes we did test many different types and styles over the past year or more before ever moving forward. They are not an HID replacement technology--they are simply used for two scenarios, and I'll tell this to a customer who calls me asking about them:
1) motorcycles / vehicles that cannot run HID ballasts or do not have large enough electrical systems to run HID components. Snowmobiles come to mind.
2) Instant flash-to-pass. Some customers want to match HID low beams but without that ~7 second warm-up time that a separate HID ballast requires. These are perfect for that.
These are only recommended for auxiliary lighting and not low beam replacement. High beams, fog lights, DRL, etc. We know better than anyone else HID is king right now. These aren't an HID replacement.
